Serious Sustainability

Our commitment to sustainability is central to who we are as a brand. We have carefully considered each part of our making process; from the materials used, to the method of manufacture which supports our local Balinese industry. We regularly visit our factory to witness the whole process from the dying, washing and finally the fabric being sewn into our garments. We only work with responsibly sourced fabrics. Our commitment to sustainability is a continuous development and we are always looking for new ways to better our products and our business as a whole.  We are seriously dedicated to mindful and sustainable fashion and we strive to merge with nature as much as possible.
Our Recycled, Regenerated  & Natural Materials
Econyl ‚Äď A fabric created from recycled ghost fishing nets.
There are more than 640,000 tons of abandoned fishing nets currently in our oceans. These massive knots of woven fiber can remain adrift for substantial periods of time and are often responsible for the accidental capture of many types of marine life including whales, fish, birds and turtles. We want to reduce and remove this waste from our oceans. Fortunately, the fishing nets can be collected and using a cutting edge regeneration process the fishing nets are broken down, combined with other types of pre- and post-consumer waste and transformed into a nylon yarn. The process is regenerating materials rather than recycling, as it's a closed-loop system, and there's an infinite number of times the nylon can be broken down and re-born into new yarn without any loss of quality. By using materials like this we lessen our negative impact whilst also cleaning up our oceans.
TENCEL‚ĄĘ is regenerated cellulose fibers. These fibers originate from renewable raw material wood created by the natural process of photosynthesis. The cellulosic fibers are manufactured using an environmentally responsible production process that recycles 99% of any chemicals used. Composed of natural material, TENCEL‚ĄĘ fibers are biodegradable and compostable and can fully revert back to nature.
GOTS Certified Organic Cotton
Our organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment using no pesticides, herbicides, synthetic fertilizers or other chemicals and helps to build biologically diverse agriculture. Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the world, and growing conventional cotton is also one of the most chemical-intensive. The chemicals used having tremendous impact on the earth’s air, water, soil, and the health of people in cotton-growing areas. They are among the most toxic chemicals as classified by the Environmental Protection Agency. Sadly, the problem is even worse in developing countries, in which most fashion textiles are manufactured. In addition to destroying the land, thousands of farmers die from exposure to these chemicals every year. This just doesn't sit well with us. Eliminating the use of these harmful chemicals in cotton is the first step in a more sustainable and chemical free future. All cotton sold as organic must meet strict regulations covering how the cotton is grown. The organic cotton that we use are certified by Global Organic Textile Standard, GOTs (
Linen is one of the oldest textiles in the world. It is strong, naturally moth resistant and made from 100% flax plant fibres. When untreated (i.e. not dyed) linen is fully biodegradable. Flax is resilient, it can grow in poor soil and needs less amounts of water than for example cotton. Linen is very breathable due to its loose weave. It absorbs moisture without holding bacteria. In fact, it is actually stronger when wet than dry and becomes softer and more pliable the more it is washed. It just gets better and better.
